Terminology for LOGS

Hi all, will be posting a chapter later today. But in the meantime, I think I should explain some terms like Xian Tian and the power stage equivalents.

Xian Tian

- Usually in reference to beings of nature, without any cultivation or power ups. Writers generally use this to describe how OP or weak something is. Like, the Phoenix was clearly superior to the rest, even in the Xian Tian stage.

So in this novel, there are various different dimensions to power ups and what not. For the human Daoist cultivation(*hint hint*)

Qi Refining

Foundation Establishment

Golden Core

Nascent Soul

(Standard stuff up till now)

Now the reason I delve into this is to sort of break it down to my fellow readers the common Chinese understanding to these power levels which are inspired by Daoism.

Qi Refining is most commonly the beginning stage for Xuan Huan (meaning something along the lines of fantasy) novels. It mainly involves the character building up their body through means like their meridians, so as to sense their environment and whatnot. Quite curiously, this is the stage of the novel that some find most interesting as it is around the level of genetically enhanced humans, with some forms of realism e.g. not immune to all the poisons in the world and can actually die from falling from the sky. People aren't almighty and deceiving tricks are most commonly used at this stage of the novel, reflecting more original personalities.

Foundation Establishment is where practitioners start to accumulate the "energy" or "power" in their body and can at least vaguely sense the environment and borrow power from it. As the name states, most of the time, this stage is where the characters start deviating from one another the most, taking their paths(cultivation methods) so as to achieve a final form(longevity, power etc.). This is the build up of their reservoir. So it's really a quantitative battle here.

Golden Core is when people start to truly shine. Their efforts condense into a singular entity and they are usually able to fly at this stage and whatnot. Usually, they can now become walking explosives as at this point in the novel, people start threatening each other with suicidal bombing when in fatal situations. Only weird yet awesome novels like Cultivation Chat Group will characters develop multiple cores(*Spoiler alert but its like at least a thousand chaps in before you guys can see it so yeah*)

Nascent Soul is now the part where people transcend humanity in some sense. Because now they can have proper control over their souls and even when dying(?) they can sort of like get out and be like poof. They can choose to reincarnate or possess someone or become a ghost cultivator. All of which usually suck so they avoid dying at all costs.

Now this is just to sort of summarise and categorise the power levels properly because at some point in some novels, people sort of lose track of what's going on in all the action due to the dimensional differences. Anyways, there hasn't been much action recently for our dear Qing Shan, so when we hit the action scenes I'll try my best to do an extra chapter release when we do. Thanks for reading!
