Tales of the Inter-dimensional Trickster Chapter 2
As Jie Jun felt his eyes being pierced into by the strong light, he felt an intense burning sensation throughout his whole body. Slowly but surely, the white little ball was turning golden and becoming the shape of a house. “NO! I WILL NOT BECOME A HOUSEEEEE!!!!” With nothing but this thought in his mind, Jie Jun persisted in maintaining his consciousness.
As if the heavens heard his pleas, the pressure exerted on him by the house began to diminish and the gold colour in his ball body condensed into an even smaller house inside of him, forming a golden core of sorts. When he finally regained control over himself, Jie Jun looked inside of himself and noticed the tiny house. Shivering in fear over how he was almost devoured by a house, he wished that he could leave this blank white space.
Just as the thought appeared in his mind, he was instantly brought out of the white space into the crater. Looking around, it was akin to a scene that a natural disaster brought to the environment. Jie Jun felt nothing but shock and awe as he witnessed the flames burning down more and more of the forest around him. Just as he was about to raise his hands to pay respects to the fallen flora from his escapade, he realised a very important fact. He had no hands. Somehow, he also had a perfect 360-degree view of his surroundings as well. Looking down, he realised that he had a rather golden “tummy”, or rather, door.
Without a doubt, he had turned into his latest nightmare, a golden house.

After his attempts to fret, scream and cry, he slowly started exploring his new “body”. Upon further probing, he realised that he was able to “move”, albeit through manipulating his own body. However, the fact that he would not be immobile forever greatly relieved him. Becoming extremely exhausted from moving just 3 meters, he decided to call it a day and took a nap.

“Senior Brother Liu, what do you think happened at the Star Forest?”, a curious young man in green asked his companion.
“It could be a divine artifact descending upon our realm once more. Or a new inheritance legacy that recently emerged from the shadows. It might even be a mighty demon lord being birthed.”, the older man replied, clearly able to tell that wonderful opportunities would require both caution and curiosity to exploit.
“Shall we go have a look then?”
“I’ll signal the sect about this incident first before we go on to explore.”
“Alright, alright. How boring… wouldn’t you want to monopolise this opportunity Senior Brother??”
“Would you like to die alone, regretting that you could have had help?”
“No.”
“Then?”
The signalling did not take long with their own spiritual artifacts and the two speedily made their way to the crater. Even if they were cautious about dangers, the thought of a possible legacy or legendary item was definitely attractive, even to the Senior Brother Liu. Coming into contact with it first before the other sects was of paramount importance.
As the two of them ran along the paths, they slowly started to see the shape of this so called “opportunity”. A golden pavilion in the midst of raging fire a hundred meters around. If that didn’t scream inheritance opportunity then they didn’t know what would. In general, past legendary cultivators like the 3 Great Saints in their world would leave behind their inheritance usually in their graves which would typically be in fancy coffins. These coffins would often appear in strong formations or near legendary beasts so as to ensure their legacies would be inherited by suitable juniors. The golden house in front of them was clearly screaming “ANCIENT LEGACY, FREE TECHNIQUES AND MEDICINE, BECOME ALMIGHTY HERE!”
The two young men looked at each other and smiled. Although they should be considered competitors, their brotherly bonds would not allow them to fight over such matters. Instead, they both resolved to acquire the inheritance together, or at least ensure one of the two got it. This way, even if the sects came over, regardless of theirs or not, the wealth would not leak out to outside parties. As they both waited for the fire to subside, they wondered which legend left such a wonderful chance for them.
“Senior Brother, what do you think is inside that pavilion?” the young man asked.
Liu replied: “It could be anything, but it should have some special origins. Have you noticed the unique quality of the flames?”
“Could it be?”, the young man gasped.
“Yes, if I am not wrong, this should be Heaven Fire. In terms of destructive power, it might not be the greatest, but its ability to wipe out the spirituality in nature is top-notch. The grounds in this area will not have life in it for the next few centuries.”
“Isn’t Heaven Fire usually only used in real small quantities? Even a spark almost completely ruined our Sect’s Legacy Treasure!”
“Isn’t that what makes this even scarier? The pavilion clearly still has some spirituality left even though the Heaven Fire produced here is in such great quality and quantity.” Liu stated as he examined the pavilion from a distance. If he had been a Nascent Soul cultivator, he would have been able to use this flame to strengthen himself. However, he could only stare at the pavilion from a distance, weighing the pros and cons of the situation.
“Then isn’t this our greatest chance Senior Brother!? I mean, even if it did have strong spirituality, it was probably struck by a falling comet to have been weakened so far! Our best bet at getting that inheritance is if we go in now, no?” The young man exclaimed as he jumped up and down in excitement.
Liu mused. His junior disciple Ming was right. In normal times, even a Nascent Soul cultivator would find it tough to break through that pavilion, but now, with such a golden opportunity, it was indeed the best moment to sneak in and grab all he could for now. If he could even gain a tinge of this power that could resist even the Heaven Fire, his cultivation would soar beyond the limits. As to making the pavilion his, it was totally out of the question. Who would dare keep on to such an attention-grabbing treasure that practically screamed “Rob me please!”
As the fire died down, the number of presences around the area increased slowly. Clearly, there were other parties that were just as interested and intent on obtaining some legendary treasure.
Finding a clear path to the pavilion, Liu grabbed Ming and rushed straight for the pavilion, knowing that his adventure today would either make him a legend or crush him like a bug.

As Jie Jun started waking up, he felt a prickling hot sensation around him. Upon looking around, he saw embers on the ground around him. Just as he was about to think about what he should do to cool himself off, he saw two men running towards him. He began to panic and wished that they would stay away until he at least understood what was going on. As these thoughts of repulsion appeared, the gravity surrounding him increased by 3-fold and the men fell to their knees.
“Could this… be the test?” “Maybe… if we endure past… this… we can get a reward right, Senior Brother?”
The two strange men were clearly happy to have seen signs of obstacles on their way to the pavilion, which weirded Jie Jun out. He immediately classified them as perverts and decided to find out more about what he could do as the pavilion before taking any other actions. As he wondered about how powerful his thoughts were and how troublesome it was to carefully think before acting, he wished that his powers would become more systematic.
As if in response to his strange request, a menu option appeared in thin air right in front of him.
